About Irvine:
Irvine, California is one of the nation's largest planned urban communities and encompasses more than 55 square miles. Located in Orange County, California Irvine has long been considered one of the safest cities in America, it is also renowned for it's excellent schools (all of Irvine's High Schools are on the Newsweek's list of the top 4 percent of High Schools in the nation), open parks, great location (both Los Angeles and San Diego are within a 90-minute drive), and access to a wealth of amenities. From most locations in Irvine, it is less than a 30-minute drive to the Pacific Ocean, Newport Beach, Dana Point, Laguna Beach, Huntington Beach, Santa Ana and Orange.
Irvine is home to the University of California, Irvine (UCI), the Orange County Center of University of Southern California, and the Irvine Campus of Alliant International University, Concordia University, California State University Fullerton, and Irvine Valley College.
Areas & Tracts
Orange County real estate is broken up into areas, which consist of tracts (back East they are known as subdivisions). The areas of Irvine are: Airport Area (mid and high-rises), Columbus Grove, El Camino Real, Northpark, Northwood, Oak Creek, Orangetree, Orchard Hills, Portola Springs, Quail Hill, Rancho San Joaquin, Turtle Ridge, Turtle Rock, Tustin Field, University Park, University Town Center, Walnut, West Irvine, Westpark, Woodbridge, and Woodbury. (Shady Canyon does not have it's own area (it's considerd in the Turtle Rock tract).)
