2-1-1 Orange County's mission is to provide a comprehensive information and referral system that links Orange County residents to community health and human services and support. Every hour of every day, someone needs essential services--from securing adequate care for a child or an aging parent to finding treatment for substance abuse.

Often times, many people go without necessary and readily available services because they do not know where to find the services or how to choose the most appropriate agency to meet their needs. As a result of 2-1-1 Orange County’s efficient and effective information and referral service the California Public Utilities Commission (CPUC) has designated 2-1-1 Orange County the lead agency for the Orange County 2-1-1 calling system. 2-1-1 is the equivalent of 9-1-1 but for human services referrals. It is federally designated, but must be locally funded.

2-1-1 Orange County is a nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization; Designated by the California Public Utilities Commission as the provider of this nationally recognized service, 2-1-1 Orange County makes the system available 24 hours a day, seven days a week to the 3,000,000 residents of this community. Callers seeking assistance dial toll free 2-1-1 and are connected with certified, multi-lingual Information and Referral (I&R) Specialists who utilize a robust database to provide information on services such as:
